– my way of thinking about magazine-

Magazines have the restriction that they must disseminate information. Among them, it is necessary to select photographs, editorials, advertising brands, interviewees, etc., for that era in the background of the present era. In 2020, various things happened, and I wondered what kind of articles the magazine published in response to it, so I bought various things. After all, there were many BLM, LGBTQ, and COVID-19. I think the overwhelming difference from zine is information dissemination. It is more interesting to look at the zine for fonts and layouts, but a magazine is a commercially available medium and can cut out the times from a unique perspective and convey it to a wide range of people.

-A MAGAZINE-

This magazine is my favourite. I’d like to have them all someday, but the ones that came out before are getting more valuable. It will take time to buy them all …anyway the reason why I like this magazine is it is not so obsessed with the background of the times. The atmosphere changes almost completely according to each issue, even contents, so it’s fascinating to see. And the aesthetics of each designer is firmly conveyed.

-System issue 16 The new look-

Issue 16 of system mainly features ib kamara and rafael pavarotti, who were also editors of dazed. The content was often race. After all, we should select human resources who project the times and tell the world what kind of person they are, what kind of meaning they are proposing to society, and what kind of backbone they have.

-VOGUE ITALIA cover page research-

I think vogue italia is the one that makes the most interesting cover page. It varies depending on the issue, but it is very interesting to see because it directly conveys the story and message as an editorial as well as the facial expressions of people.

-vogue layout 100 years(1893-1999)

This research was done in term2, but I think it will be helpful for a while, so I will use it in term3 as well. The atmosphere is slightly different for each magazine, but I think that the aesthetics of a fashion magazine lies in vogue.
